FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Elaia Green Vehicles is one of the Philippine’s pioneers in hybrid and electric vehicles. We are used to having many questions come our way. Here are some of the most commonly asked:

How often does the etrike need to be charged?

This is dependent on usage. Each full charge lasts 80 kilometers or ___ hours.

How much gas needs to be in the tank? Will I have to fill the gas often?

No gas is needed. The e-trike is 100% battery operated.

What maintenance does the etrike need?

We recommend the following maintenance schedule:

  • After the first month or 1,000 kms
  • After the fourth month or 4,000 kms
  • After the eighth month or 8,000 kms
  • After the twelfth month or 12,000 kms
  • After the first year, service maintenance should happen every three months of every 3,000 kms.

What are the advantages of the e-trike compared to a traditional tricycle? Why should I buy an e-trike?

  • E-trikes give trike drivers a chance to earn more because of the larger passenger capacity. (Three passengers on a regular trike versus the eight passengers on an e-trike).
  • E-trikes are environmentally friendly. These trikes are powered by a Toyota 5kw motor and controller with zero-carbon emissions and zero-noise pollution, unlike conventional gas tricycles, which emits both carbon gas and noise.
  • EGV provides after-sales service to all its e-trike clients, both onsite and offsite service. Plus, EGV provides a one year warranty on the motor and controller of the e-trike.

How etrikes are charged?

Every e-trike is equipped with a socket for fast charging or an on-board charger that can use an ordinary home outlet.

Will it be able to climb rugged and hilly terrain?

The e-trike is equipped with a 5kw Toyota motor and controller, powerful enough to manipulate rugged and hilly terrains, such as those found in Antipolo. The e-trike has both high gears and low gears that allow it to adapt at any time to any hill climb.

It is also LTO certified with a maximum 30 degrees climbing angle.

What are the battery options for etrike?

The e-trike uses lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries.

Are etrike really better for the environment, are they really green?

Yes, they are really green and environmentally friendly because they use electricity and not fossil fuels, which means they have no carbon emissions.

Are lithium batteries recyclable?

Yes. The Philippines is currently yet to open a lithium-ion battery recycling plant, but other countries recycle old lithium-ion batteries.

Are the e-trike motor and controller covered by a warranty?

Yes, there is a one year warranty on the motor and controller.

Is it safe to charge the e-trike even if it is raining?

Yes. E-trikes are safe to charge even when it is raining. No electric shock will occur.

What is the maximum passenger loading capacity of the e-trike?

Nine passengers, including the driver.
