OUR CLIENT

The Tricycle Driver

  • Next to the jeepney, the tricycle or trike, is the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines.  As shown in the public transport profile in the Philippines for 2016 (Figure 1), tricycles and motorcycles account for more than 55% of the registered motor vehicles in the country.
  • From the 5,175,303 combined tricycles and motorcycles, around 1.2 million are tricycles (23%).
  • Most of the operating tricycle units are still using the old & polluted 2-stroke engines.

Location of Business Operations

  • Following the successful test runs of the e-trike in the area, EGV decided to set up its business operations in Antipolo City, considering the good market potential of the e-trike Project in this city.  In addition to this, the Company has a good relationship with the Local Government (LGU), which has given its full support for this project.
  • Based on the census report of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for 2015, Antipolo City has a total population of 776,836. It is said to be the most populous city in the Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon (CALABARZON) Region and the 7th most populous city in the Philippines. It registered an annual growth rate of 4.19% from 2000.
